New training to support autism inclusion in ECEC settings

Dec 09, 2025

Educator and students in classroom environment
We were delighted to welcome South Australia's Minister for Education, Training and Skills, Blair Boyer MP to the TAFE SA Centre of Excellence in Early Childhood Education and Care, alongside Chief Executive Adam Kilvert, for the launch of our new training product: Introduction to Autism for Early Childhood Educators.

This training, designed for Certificate III qualified educators, was piloted in November and is being evaluated prior to it being integrated into the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care [CHC30121] curriculum from 2026.

Developed in collaboration with Anglicare SA, Reframing Autism, and Gowrie South Australia, the program equips future ECEC educators with the skills to create supportive, inclusive environments where every child can thrive.

This initiative marks an important step towards strengthening educator capability nationwide, and we're proud to see it begin here in South Australia with ECEC sector and our own students and educators.
