Equity for all. Period.

TAFE SA is taking action to end period poverty on our campuses. We’re installing free pad and tampon dispensers in all female and unisex/gender-neutral bathrooms—because access to period products is a basic right, not a luxury.

What is Period Poverty?

According to the Bloody Big Survey 2024, 64% of respondents have struggled to afford period products.  This isn't just a financial issue; it affects health, education, work, and participation in everyday life.

At TAFE SA, we believe no one should miss out on learning because of their period. Period products are, after all, basic hygiene requirements —just like toilet paper, soap, and paper towels!

Take what you need

Period poverty is an issue we can fix together. Students at our campuses are encouraged to take what they need from our dispensers, and to be thoughtful of the needs of others.

Equity for all. Period.
