About TAFE SA

TAFE SA is the largest provider of vocational education and training (VET) in South Australia delivering more than 1000 courses to an average of 80,000 students per year across the State. TAFE SA offers training across more than 80 activity and industry-related areas with a wide range of quality courses and flexible study options to suit your personal needs. 

TAFE SA plays a major role in the development of South Australia’s future workforce with 88% of students employed or in further study after graduating. In building the State’s skill base, TAFE SA works with industry and business to deliver relevant, high-quality, vocational education and training to better link skills and training with job opportunities, ensuring sustainable employment within the state.

Our Board

TAFE SA is a statutory corporation owned by the South Australian Government. The Board of TAFE SA is charged with building the TAFE SA brand and growing the reputation for quality.

The Board meets regularly and is supported by several sub-committees and the Board Secretariat.

Board profiles

Mr Peter Vaughan (Chair), former head of Business SA, started his working life as a teacher and has served on a number of Boards, including the Training and Skills Commission and WorkCover Corporation. 

Mr Rob Chapman was until recently CEO of St George Group and is a current member of the Economic Development Board.

Ms Joanne Denley currently the Director of Human Resources and Risk Management at Bridgestone Australia Ltd and has vast experience in managing industrial relations and improving operational efficiencies.

Ms Miriam Silva who was most recently Elders Commercial Operations General Manager and is currently the Deputy Chair of the Training and Skills Commission, Chair of the Training Regulation Reference Group and Member of the Premier’s Council for Women.

Ms Noelene Buddle is a private consultant who sits on a number of Boards including WorkCover Corporation and the South Australian Museum.

Mr John Branson AM, a lawyer by training who is currently the Chairman of Directors at Stuart Petroleum Limited and on the Bank of South Australia Advisory Board.

Mr Adrian Marron previously headed up TAFE SA North Institute and is now the CEO of the Canberra Institute of Technology.

Ms Annette Hurley a former Senator who is currently the Chair of the Northern Areas Community and Youth Services Board and has been an active board member since 1992.
