About TAFE SA

TAFE SA represents a network of three independent institutes, two in metropolitan Adelaide:

and one which covers regional South Australia:

These institutes are the leading and largest public providers of vocational education and training (VET) in South Australia delivering courses to an average of 80,000 students per year across more than 48 sites state wide. TAFE SA institutes offer training across more than 80 activity and industry-related areas.

TAFE SA is a significant part of the Department of Further Education, Employment, Science and Technology (DFEEST), and plays a major role in the development of South Australia’s workforce and community. In building the State’s skill base, Institutes work with industry and business to deliver relevant, high-quality, vocational education and training to better link skills and training with job opportunities, ensuring sustainable employment within the state.

TAFE SA works collaboratively across the three Institutes and has governance arrangements that allow autonomy for delivery and its workforce, including recruitment practices.

TAFE SA employs approximately 2400 employees, in a range of lecturing, administrative and management positions across the three Institutes:
