Prisoners in South Australian correctional institutions also receive a concession.

A concession card must be presented at time of enrolment. If you are not in possession of a Health Care Card at the time of enrolment, but can produce a Health Care Card or an Interim Health Care Card within 42 calendar days of enrolment, the concession rate can be applied and the difference in fee will be reimbursed. This applies to Health Care Card holders only.

If you are unsure of your eligibility, you can contact Centrelink before your enrolment on 131 021.

If you are eligible for a concession, you will pay a flat rate of $1.40 per curriculum hour.

Concession example

Unit/competency length 40 hours
TAFE SA concession fee per hour $1.40
Total cost to student 40 hours x $1.40 = $56.00

No concessions apply for prevocational, preparatory or TAFEstart courses as these are already subsidised. There are no concessions to full-fee courses and some short courses.
