- Introduction to building information modelling (BIM)

- Revit elements and families
- Basic drawing and editing tools

- Drawing and modifying walls
- Basic annotation (dimensioning and text)
- Creating and printing sheets (floor plans, elevations etc.)

What you will need to complete this course:
- A student version of Autodesk® Revit® (version to match the current academic year). This is provided free of charge on a 1-Year Education Licence through Autodesk® (not through TAFE SA however enrolment verification is required to obtain a student licence from Autodesk®).
- A Microsoft® Windows® based laptop or computer (tablets not recommended).

Note: Before you install the software, there are a few things you will need to consider. One of the most important is the suitability of your hardware and operating system to launch and run the software successfully.

The system requirements for Autodesk® Revit® can be found here:
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/System-requirements-for-Autodesk-Revit-2021-products.html

The prerequisites for Autodesk® Revit® can be found here:
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Prerequisites-for-Revit-2021.html

Note: If you are having difficulty installing this product, or it does not launch/run as expected, you most likely have a computer that doesn't meet the minimum hardware or operating system requirements and may be missing (or have corrupt) system components as noted in the Autodesk® Revit® 'Prerequisites' link above.

Note: TAFE SA is not obligated to provide support in such situations, and resolution of these issues (together with any 'third-party' repair costs) will be the responsibility of the student.

Apple Mac users - Autodesk® Revit® is a Microsoft® Windows® based application. It is not supported on Apple Mac devices (hardware and operating system). You will need a Windows based computer or laptop to install and run it.
