    Course Notes

    • Students would typically complete a package of courses, made up of the Advanced Diploma of Events (2 semesters), the Diploma of Events (2 semesters) and the Certificate III in Events (1 semester) for a total duration of 2.5 academic years (5 Semesters). The cost of this package of courses is $32,500. Students will receive a COE and a parchment for each of the courses within the package.

    If you are applying from onshore, generally, you will need to apply for an international course to TAFE South Australia at least two months before you want to start your studies in Australia. If you are applying from offshore it is highly recommended that you apply at least four months in advance.

    Events management in Australia is vibrant and growing with plenty of opportunities for trained professionals to manage events, ranging from private parties to business conferences, from art exhibitions to music festivals. People in event coordination find jobs in convention bureaux, tourism commission, exhibition companies, or work for professional conference and event organisations, or regional festivals.

    Qualifications & Skills Covered

    Certificate III in Events (SIT30612)
    This course provides you with the skills to work effectively in an assistant role in the event industry. Event assistants provide administrative and on-site support for a wide range of events, from weddings to business conferences to festivals. This qualification will give you the skills, knowledge and abilities to step into an entry level role in the vibrant event industry or continue your event studies to Diploma and beyond. 5 core units plus 8 electives.

    Diploma of Events (SIT50212)
    This qualification provides skills for individuals who wish to use sound knowledge of event management processes and a broad range of skills to coordinate event operations. When you study the Diploma you will learn how to operate independently and make operational event management decisions venue selection, conference management, budgeting and team supervision. 9 core units plus 11 electives.

    Advanced Diploma of Events (SIT60212)
    This qualification reflects the role of individuals operating at a senior level who use substantial knowledge of event management processes and a wide range of specialised managerial skills to conceive, plan and stage events. They operate with significant autonomy and are responsible for making a range of strategic business and event management decisions. 16 core units plus 8 electives.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full Qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.

    Packaged University Offer

    This course is available as a Packaged University Offer. The University program(s) for this course: Bachelor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Adelaide or Bachelor of Business (Tourism and Event Management) at the University of South Australia

    This allows students to accept a joint packaged offer with a local South Australian University, and upon successful completion of TAFE SA qualification, the student is eligible for a guaranteed entry into a nominated University Program. Find out more about Packaged University Offers.

    The benefits of a Packaged University Offer include:

    • Students will be able to apply for a single visa for the entire duration of both programs
    • Guaranteed entry into selected University Programs
    • Guaranteed credits shorten the duration of qualifications and reduces tuition fees over the total duration of study program

    Credit Transfer

    You will only receive a joint offer for TAFE SA and University if you apply for a Packaged University Program. If the University course that you have selected is not part of a Packaged University Offers, you will need to apply separately to the University for your selected degree program.

    Studying at TAFE SA is one of the easiest pathways towards a University Degree. Credit Transfer is the formal recognition that parts of a TAFE SA course are equivalent in content and level to parts of some University courses.
