    Course Admission Requirements (for International Applications)

    • Academic IELTS score of 5.5 Overall with minimum of 5.0 in all bands or equivalent.
    • Satisfactory completion of Year 12 or overseas equivalent OR successful completion of the Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building).

    Course Notes

    • Students may wish to complete any of the building Certificate IV programs prior to this 2 year Diploma.
    • Students choosing to complete the package of the Certificate IV in Building & Construction (Building) and the Diploma of Building & Construction (Building) may be able to complete the package within 5 semesters (2.5 years).

    International Course - application process

    If you are applying from onshore, generally, you will need to apply for an international course to TAFE South Australia at least two months before you want to start your studies in Australia. If you are applying from offshore it is highly recommended that you apply at least four months in advance.

    Employment Outcomes

    These courses prepare graduates for work on commercial and industrial projects as well as low-rise residential buildings. Students also gain the skills to work in an architectural or design office preparing plans and documents.

    Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) (CPC50210)
    This qualification is designed to meet the needs of builders, including selecting contractors, overseeing the work and its quality, and liaising with clients. The builder may also be the appropriately licensed person with responsibility under the relevant building licensing authority in the state or territory. 13 core units plus 5 electives.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full Qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
