Employment Outcomes

This course provides the knowledge and practical skills needed to provide chairside assistance for dental practitioners and other administrative reception duties that are normally carried out in a dental practice.

Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.

Qualifications & Skills Covered

Certificate III in Dental Assisting
8 core units: Prepare for and assist with oral health care procedures; Assist with dental radiography; Assist with administration in dental practice; Apply first aid; Communicate and work effectively in health; Comply with infection control policies and procedures; Process reusable instruments and equipment in health work; Participate in OHS processes.

Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency within this Qualification will receive a Statement of Attainment.
