Employment Outcomes

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a broad range of highly-developed technical guiding skills or specialisation in a limited range of skills and knowledge. Work would be undertaken in the field where tourism products and services are delivered. The field includes any destination, local or regional area, tourist precinct, site, attraction or onboard form of transportation.

Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.

Qualifications & Skills Covered

Certificate III in Tourism (Guiding)
Understanding the tourism industry; leading tour groups; preparing and delivering a tour commentary; coordinating tours; first aid; customer service; communication skills; occupational health and safety.

Certificate IV in Tourism (Guiding)
Understanding the tourism industry; leading tour groups; preparing and delivering a tour commentary; coordinating tours; managing extended tours; plan and develop environmentally sustainable operations; plan and implement minimal impact operations; risk management; first aid; customer service; communication skills; occupational health and safety.

Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency within this Qualification will receive a Statement of Attainment.
