wx TAFE SA can recognise the skills (RPL) you already have. If you are working in the industry and have skills that can be recognised, TAFE SA will provide any additional training needed to gain a qualification.
bx Students wishing to access WorkReady funding or VET Fee Help will be required to undertake a reading, writing and numeracy assessment before enrolling.

Employment Outcomes

This qualification covers the application of nursing skills and knowledge required to be eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia in line with some state/territory nursing and midwifery regulatory authorities. Enrolled nurses are employed across a variety of health care contexts including acute, community, aged care, residential, rural and remote settings.

Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.

Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled-Division 2 nursing) (HLT51612)
This qualification equips you with the knowledge and skills required to provide effective nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
The course focuses on developing caring, reflective practitioners who are able to integrate theory with practice, problem solve and work in a collaborative team environment.
Knowledge and skills will be developed in areas including communication, cultural diversity, law and ethics, anatomy and physiology, acute and chronic health disorders, clinical nursing skills and medication management. 21 core units plus 5 electives.
NOTE:

  • 400 hours of Professional Experience Placement will be required.

Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full Qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.

Credit Transfer

Studying at TAFE SA is one of the easiest pathways towards a University Degree. Credit Transfer is the formal recognition that parts of a TAFE SA course are equivalent in content and level to parts of some University courses.
