  • The course has a large practical, field-based component so students should be prepared for physical activities such as bush walking, camping, canoeing and others. Students should also be confident in water. The course has a strong scientific focus, therefore students would benefit from having some science training in high school level or equivalent.

Diploma of Environmental Monitoring and Technology
11 core units: Implement environmental management plans and procedures; Apply an understanding of environmental principles to a site; Process and present environmental data; Assist with assessing site environmental indicators; Assess the environmental risk or impact of a project activity or process; Report environmental data; Provide environmental information to customers; Implement and monitor environmentally sustainable work practices; Participate in laboratory/field workplace safety; Collect routine site samples; Undertake environmental field-based monitoring, plus 9 elective units.

Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency within this Qualification will receive a Statement of Attainment.
