Employment Outcomes
This course aims to provide the skills and knowledge required to assist a legal practitioner. Students learn advanced legal research skills, preparing documents and assisting with legal work under the instructions of a legal practitioner. Graduates will be equipped to gain employment as an executive assistant, legal services support officer, paralegal or senior legal secretary
While there are no formal prerequisite requirements for individual units for the Diploma, completion of the Certificate IV in Legal Services or relevant vocational experience is the preferred pathway into this qualification.
Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.

Diploma of Legal Services
Advanced legal research, professional practice skills and specialist electives including family law, criminal law, property law, corporations law, civil procedure and wills and estates.
Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency within this Qualification will receive a Statement of Attainment.
Credit Transfer
Studying at TAFE SA is one of the easiest pathways towards a University Degree. Credit Transfer is the formal recognition that parts of a TAFE SA course are equivalent in content and level to parts of some University courses.
