Course Admission Requirements

  • No course admission requirements, however, students wishing to access WorkReady funding or VET Fee Help will be required to demonstrate satisfactory reading, writing and numeracy skills as part of course counselling before enrolling.

    Uni Dual Offer Course

    • You will receive an offer to both TAFE SA and University, with the University offer being conditional on successful completion of the TAFE SA qualification.
    • You can rest assured you have secured your University offer, pending successful completion of the TAFE SA award.
    • No further application will be required.
    • You will receive credit for TAFE SA studies allowing you to complete two awards dependant on the pathway selected.
    • If accepted, you will receive an offer to TAFE SA and-on successful completion of the TAFE SA qualification-an offer to University with no further application required.

    Employment Outcomes

    Work as a technical officer in the rapidly-growing electronics industry and related areas like defence, mining and biomedical. You may be commissioning computer networks for computer controlled video equipment in a television studio, or working as a network administrator managing a computer and control network.

    Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.

    Qualifications & Skills Covered

    Diploma of Computer Systems Engineering (UEE50111)
    Learn how to assemble and test computers, install and configure Operating Systems and connect electronic and computer equipment to a network. Build electronic circuits, program microcontrollers in assembly language and other programming languages. Support customers in larger businesses, troubleshoot simple server and networking problems and provide technical advice/sales. 7 core units plus electives.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full Qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
