Course Admission Requirements

  • No course admission requirements, however, students wishing to access WorkReady funding or VET Fee Help will be required to demonstrate satisfactory reading, writing and numeracy skills as part of course counselling before enrolling.

    Uni Dual Offer Course

    • You will receive an offer to both TAFE SA and University, with the University offer being conditional on successful completion of the TAFE SA qualification.
    • You can rest assured you have secured your University offer, pending successful completion of the TAFE SA award.
    • No further application will be required.
    • You will receive credit for TAFE SA studies allowing you to complete two awards dependant on the pathway selected.
    • If accepted, you will receive an offer to TAFE SA and-on successful completion of the TAFE SA qualification-an offer to University with no further application required.

    Employment Outcomes

    New graduates will work as technicians under limited supervision in the collection, processing and presentation of data in the areas of mining, engineering, construction, hydrography, aerial mapping, geographic information systems and land surveying. Software, hardware and techniques learnt in this Diploma are transferable to careers in the spatial sciences industry both nationally and internationally.

    Qualifications & Skills Covered

    Certificate IV in Surveying (CPP40216)
    This course covers a broad range of surveying practices, and has a strong practical focus including field work and software exercises that complement survey computations taught in the classroom. 7 core units plus 8 electives.

    Diploma of Surveying (CPP50116)
    This course provides specialist skills and knowledge in all aspects of surveying. A strong practical focus gives you extensive skills in the use of a wide range of surveying and precision GPS equipment in a range of industry contexts. In the classroom, you will gain valuable skills in leading surveying and engineering software applications and lectures provide the background to survey theory and mathematics. 7 core units plus 9 electives.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full Qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
