Changes from 11th June 2016

On Saturday 11 June, TAFE SA is changing your TAFE SA Email Address.

Your TAFE SA email address will change from your student identification to your own name format such as: firstname.lastname@student.tafesa.edu.au You can use your new TAFE SA email address to sign in to TAFE SA computers or continue to use your Student ID.

Password Security Requirements

By default, TAFE SA Email (Office 365) user passwords are set to expire every 90 days. When your password expires, you are notified upon signing in.

When you create a new password, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Use 8 to 16 characters
  • Must contain characters from at least three of the following four categories:
  • Lowercase characters (a – z)
  • Uppercase characters (A – Z)
  • Numerals (0-9)
  • Symbols, including: ! @ # $ % ^ & * - _ + = [ ] { } | \ : ‘ , . ? / ` ~ “ < > ( ) ;


You cannot use your Student ID number or your first or last name as part of your password.

Note: Your password for My TAFE SA is now linked, and you can use your email address to sign in to your PC, Office 365, Learn and SIS.

 

You can now register for Password Self Service Reset

Go to https://otpreg.tafesa.edu.au to register your details to use this service and provide a personal email address or phone number.

If you forget your password, you can then go to https://otp.tafesa.edu.au and an unlock code will be sent to your preferred method.

 

If you forget your password and have not registered, you can request a password reset from your Lecturer or Student Support Officer on campus. You will be provided with a new temporary password to use the next time you sign in.

 

Please Note:If you change the password for your email account, make sure you also update the password in any mobile devices or other email programs that you have configured.

 

Accessing Email & Web Applications

Please Note: TAFE SA will not provide technical assistance for personal computing devices or programs on those devices. Please contact your device manufacturer or program author for any additional support.

 

Mobile Access

You can access your TAFE SA emails with most internet capable mobile phones, tablets, and laptops. There are tutorials on how to configure common devices at help.outlook.com. Please refer to your device’s support documentation and support service for assistance.

Desktop Email Programs

You can access your TAFE SA emails with most desktop email clients (e.g. Windows Mail, Thunderbird, etc.). There are basic settings needed to configure your program at help.outlook.com. Please refer to your program author’s website for additional information on how to configure the program.

Other Webmail Services

Some other webmail services will be able to access your TAFE SA emails (if configured and permitted to do so). Please refer to the website’s support documentation for assistance. There are basic settings needed to configure your program at help.outlook.com.

Please Note: TAFE SA is not responsible for the storage of contents in Office 365 or OneDrive. The services are subject to change, and it is the responsibility of students to ensure they have back-ups of important files stored through this service.
