Surveying and Spatial Information
Spatial information services involve the collection, storage, manipulation, analysis and display of spatial data and information, which can be related to a location on earth. The information can be used for the purpose of planning and implementing the efficient administration and development of natural and built resources. Training in this area provides the necessary skills and knowledge for graduates to work as surveyors or geographic information system (GIS) technicians in areas where spatial data is used in the decision-making process including asset management, planning, land development, environmental management, marketing, mining, resource development, primary industry and local government.
