About Library and Teaching Support

Support roles at para-professional level are vital to the smooth running of education facilities. Library assistants are skilled technicians who issue, receive and shelve library items such as books, tapes and films and maintain associated records. Other education support roles deal with behaviour and developmental. Graduates in the education program can assist teachers in the classroom and work with children from three to 15 years old (K-10). Employment may also be gained in Indigenous, ethnic/multicultural or special-needs schools and language-intensive schools working one-to-one or with groups.
