Adelaide College of the Arts Writing
Staff Profile: Heather Eaton
Heather has been part of the teaching team at AC ARTS since 2008. She has a passion for short stories and loves to assist students in the Creative Writing course to think differently about how stories are constructed. Stories are not always created from a good solid idea although there is nothing wrong with that. Heather encourages new writers to experiment with different ways of allowing creativity to come and enhance their writing skills. An idea for a story can begin by allowing language to drive ideas, rather than traditional posture of ideas driving a narrative. The cross fertilisation of other creative arts can only enhance story writing and that is something Heather encourages her students to engage with.
Heather started writing many years ago and has three biographies, many articles, some short stories and a myriad of other work published. She enjoys going on the journey with those who want to improve their writing and loves helping them achieve their goals. She enjoys anything to do with the ocean and once had a horse named Blue
