Staff Profile: Robert Moore
Award-winning writer, Robert Moore, is an author of children’s books and gay romance novels. This year, his short story ‘Mother Tongue’ has been selected by the Film and TV Program at AC Arts to be produced as a film by third year students. His latest children’s picture book, 'Noelene Knows Best', is due for release with Featherweight Press in the US, while his last picture book 'About Face', is being developed in readiness to be an animation, interactive game and an ongoing series.
Robert is currently a participant in the D-Lab Initiative being run by the SA Film Corporation. In August, 2013, he was a guest presenter at the Salisbury Writers’ Festival, while his play 'Brewing' had a reading with CentrStage and the University of Tasmania as part of TasPride in November of that same year. In 2012, MLR Press published 'Pecking Disorder' and 'Hard Pressed'. 'Hard Pressed' had its Australian launch in conjunction with Feast Festival and The City of Salisbury last year. Robert was invited to the Gay Romance Literature Conference in Albuquerque New Mexico for the US launch and signing of these books. Arts SA awarded Robert a grant to travel to the conference. Robert has also won the inaugural Feast Short Story Competition.
