This course is designed for migrants and international degree holders to assist with their transition into the accounting, business and financial services workplace, by giving them practical vocational skills. Note: No refunds apply unless the course is cancelled by TAFE SA.
This course is designed to assist migrants and international degree holders who are seeking entry level employment or part-time in accounting, bookkeeping, business and financial services.
This part time or entry level employment could include any of the following roles: licensed bookkeeper; registered BAS Agent; accounts payable officer accounts receivable officer; payroll officer; store keeper, inventory manager; stock control officer; contracted bookkeeper or accounts supervisor.
For migrants and international degree holders without previous Australian work experience and\or practical work skills this course will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge sought by employers and recruitment agencies.
All necessary training materials and textbooks including a MYOB Student Version 19.11 DVD will be provided as part of the course fee.
Work Skills for Migrants & International Degree Holders
Skills covered include:
- Business tax calculations (Goods and Services Tax (GST), Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) tax withheld, PAYG income tax instalments, Luxury Car Tax (LCT), Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Wine Equalisation Tax (WET), Fuel Tax Credit (FCT), Payroll tax, Workcover and Superannuation.
- Day to day computerised bookkeeping using MYOB (set up and operate a computerised accounting system, prepare, match and process receipts, process payment documentation, manage day to day accounts and process customer transactions, entering sales and purchases right through to reconciling the bank account and generating reports.
- Preparing and processing payrolls using MYOB software (preparing payroll documentation, process payroll from provided data in MYOB computerised payroll systems, including Payroll legislation, Superannuation obligations, Payroll calculations, Setting up the MYOB payroll command centre, End of year payroll procedures and payroll reconciliation.
- Preparation and lodgement of the Business Activity Statements (BAS) to Australian Tax Office and\or Management (preparing and completing BAS), including BAS compliance requirements, manual BAS preparation, enter the BAS transactions, adjustments and corrections in MYOB and generate BAS reports in MYOB.
