This course is the entry level qualification in specialist wool classing for owner classers enabling registration with AWEX Ltd as an Owner Classer. This qualification enhances opportunities to further careers in the wool industry as well as in career areas such as Farm management, Wool buyer and brokering and Agribusiness.

Certificate III in Wool Clip Preparation
This qualification provides practical skills and knowledge to sort, classify and grade wool into various types for sale in the market. Skills covered include applying quality assurance procedures, classing fleece wool, determining wool characteristics, preparing fleece for wool classing, preparing skirtings and oddments and pressing wool. First aid, effective communication, responding to emergencies and safety in the workplace is also covered. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 14 core units.
Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
