You will learn how to apply make-up for day, evening and special events and master fashion forward techniques in various looks such as glamour, smokey eye and cat walk. These skills will be delivered in our beauty clinics which simulate the workplace.

This course is subsidised through the Government of South Australia's Subsidised Training initiative. Assessing your eligibility may include participation in a Language, Literacy and Numeracy pre-assessment. Concessions apply to Subsidised Training only.

Fees vary depending on subjects you enrol into. This course also has an incidentals cost of $200.00 for Make-up kit and uniform.

    • Reading, writing and numeracy skills are assessed using the Core Skills Profile for Adults (CSPA). This assessment is used to determine whether you will be required to undertake additional support units alongside your qualification or undertake a pathway course before commencing your chosen qualification. If you receive an offer, more information will be provided at your enrolment session.

  • Employment Outcomes

    This qualification provides a pathway to work as a retail sales consultant in any business that sells beauty or cosmetic products and services. This can include beauty and hairdressing salons, retail outlets and department stores. Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics is a pathway into Certificate III in Beauty Services.

    Skills covered include workplace safety, advising on beauty products and services, designing and applying make-up, conducting financial transactions, communication and teamwork, organisation and visual merchandising. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 10 core units and 5 elective units.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
