Description

Gain practical training with this hands-on course to get a trade qualification and learn the latest in wall and ceiling lining skills so that you can become an asset to any employer with your plastering industry apprenticeship. Some of the skills relating to the wall and ceiling lining field of work include: installing and finishing plasterboard and fibre cement sheeting; installing suspended ceilings and building partitions; setting the joins and sanding; installing passive dry-wall fibre rated and sound rated systems; installing insulation.

Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining (CPC31211)
19 core units, work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry; plan and organise work; conduct workplace communication; carry out measurements and calculations; read and interpret plans and specifications; work safely at heights; apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry; fix standard plasterboard wall sheets; fix standard plasterboard ceiling sheets; fix battens; fix wet area sheets; fix ceiling sheets to external protected areas; fix fibre cement board, plus 7 electives.

Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full Qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.

This course is funded through the Government of South Australia's WorkReady initiative. WorkReady funding for this course is only for a trainee/apprentice with an approved training contract.
