Fifteen staff, students and graduates from TAFE SA will head to Western Australia later this month to compete at the 2018 Sheep Shearing and Woolhandling Championships at the Perth Royal Show.

TAFE SA is being represented across a number of categories at the championships (21-23 September) by those who have taught or trained as part of the shearing and woolhandling programs offered across the state.

TAFE SA Shearing and Wool Programme Coordinator Glenn Haynes, who has also been selected as the South Australian Team Manager, said students were encouraged to take part to help hone and improve their skills.

“All of the students have been chosen on their own merit, having competed across South Australia in various shows,” Glenn said.
