TAFE SA’s Global Engagement team hosted an International Student Night at The Hindley Hotel earlier this month.
This event was created to provide an opportunity for all TAFE SA international students to engage with one another and familiarise themselves with key TAFE SA staff and representatives from StudyAdelaide and our university partners.
Guest speakers included TAFE SA Executive Director, Education, Brian Rungie, Chief Executive StudyAdelaide, Karyn Kent and TAFE SA Diploma of Enrolled Nursing graduate, Yasuru Migara Ranasinghe.
The Global Engagement team arranged food, drinks, competitions and games for students to be involved in on the night. There was even a student gift giveaway, with the top door prize being a fabulous new Apple Watch. Other prizes included Haigh's chocolate, TAFE SA merchandise and gift vouchers for the Central Market and Feast on Foot Tours. These great prizes would not have been possible without the generous support of our event sponsors, 4Ways Fresh, StudyAdelaide and The Hindley Hotel.
To top off the evening, students were served beautiful TAFE SA branded cupcakes made by bakery studies lecturer Ashley Schmidt and his students.
The event was a tremendous success and well received by all those who attended. The Global Engagement team intend to replicate the event again in Semester 1 2019.
