Employment Services - Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get information about my client?

You can keep track of your client’s TAFE SA personal information by arranging for them to sign a Student Consent to Release Personal Information form, nominating you to access TAFE SA information on their behalf.

How can I help a jobseeker who is an existing TAFE SA student?

Your jobseeker may have experience, training and qualifications which can be credited to the course they want to study. If they have done similar study in the same program area, they may be able to reduce study time and costs by applying for credit transfer of their previous units of study, with no fees for these units. If they have relevant work or life experience, or study in a different area, they may be able to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). The cost for these units is half of what would normally be charged. If this is something your client would like to explore, ask them to talk to their lecturer.

What if my client can’t continue to study?

We realise that circumstances change, and students may not be able to complete their study. If fees have been paid and the student is part-way through training, they or you may be entitled to a refund. Talk to our staff about the circumstances.

What if my client is under 18?

There are additional forms that need to be signed by a guardian. Ask your TAFE SA program staff to provide you with these.

How does my client manage fee payments?

Arrangements for fee payment must be completed prior to the commencement of training. There are options for paying fees by instalment or VET FEE-HELP for students undertaking a diploma or above qualification. Check our payment options or contact us for more details.

We are able to provide information to assist students in managing their fee payments. The booklet Money Matters provides good advice.

What if payment for the course is made by the job network provider or third party?

Your client’s course fees can be paid by a third party, and we can arrange for that party to be invoiced directly. For details, contact the TAFE SA program staff or course contact.
