Employment Outcomes

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in skilled operations and team leading or supervision. Work would be undertaken in various hospitality settings such as restaurants, hotels, motels, clubs, pubs, cafés and coffee shops.
Possible job roles include food and beverage supervisor, front office supervisor, concierge, butler and gaming supervisor.

Qualifications & Skills Covered

Certificate III in Hospitality
This certificate builds on Certificate II skills and knowledge to carry out tasks such as preparing and serving drinks at a bar and tables, preparing and serving espresso coffee, providing reception or front desk services, providing housekeeping and room services, providing gaming services and serving food, wine, cocktail and other beverages at tables. This will assist students to work in restaurants, hotels/pubs, motels, catering operations, clubs, cafés and specialist coffee shops.

Certificate IV in Hospitality
This certificate provides students with the skills and knowledge to carry out tasks such as supervising the operation of a bar, restaurant, coffee shop supervising activities of a front desk or reception, supervising restaurant and banqueting services, providing stock ordering and control, budgeting and financial control, supervising and managing gaming operations. This will assist students to manage and supervise staff in restaurants, hotels/pubs, motels, catering operations, clubs, cafés and specialist coffee shops.

Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency within this Qualification will receive a Statement of Attainment.

Credit Transfer

Studying at TAFE SA is one of the easiest pathways towards a University Degree. Credit Transfer is the formal recognition that parts of a TAFE SA course are equivalent in content and level to parts of some University courses.
