Employment Outcomes

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in skilled operations with the need to apply discretion and judgement. Work would be undertaken in various hospitality settings, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, clubs, pubs, cafés and coffee shops. Individuals may have some responsibility for others and provide technical advice and support a team.
Possible job roles include bar attendant, barista, waiter, wine waiter, front desk receptionist, housekeeper, and gaming attendant.

Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.

Qualifications & Skills Covered

Certificate III in Hospitality
This certificate builds on Certificate II skills and knowledge to carry out tasks such as preparing and serving drinks at a bar and tables, preparing and serving espresso coffee, providing reception or front desk services, providing housekeeping and room services, providing gaming services and serving food, wine, cocktail and other beverages at tables. This will assist students to work in restaurants, hotels/pubs, motels, catering operations, clubs, cafés and specialist coffee shops.

Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency within this Qualification will receive a Statement of Attainment.
