    Employment Outcomes

    This qualification enables graduates to work in the visitor information sector of the tourism industry or for destination marketing companies who fulfil dual information and sales functions for particular tourism destinations. Possible job roles include information officer; booking agent; and sales consultant.

    Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.

    Qualifications & Skills Covered

    Certificate III in Tourism (Visitor Information Services)
    13 core units: perform office procedures; provide visitor information; work with colleagues and customers; work in a socially diverse environment; communicate on the telephone; follow health, safety and security procedures; develop and update tourism industry knowledge; operate an online information system; access and interpret product information; source and provide Australian destination information and advice; sell tourism products and services; use business technology; design and produce business documents; and 5 elective units.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency within this Qualification will receive a Statement of Attainment.
