Course Notes & Special Requirements
- TAFE SA can recognise the skills (RPL) you already have. If you are working in the industry and have skills that can be recognised, TAFE SA will provide any additional training needed to gain a qualification.
- Students wishing to access WorkReady funding or VET Fee Help will be required to demonstrate satisfactory reading, writing and numeracy skills as part of course counselling before enrolling.

This qualification reflects the role of educators who are responsible for the day-to-day running of a before and after school care and/or vacation care service, including planning, implementing and managing programs which address regulatory and duty of care requirements. They will have responsibility for the supervision of volunteers and or other staff.
Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.

Diploma of School Age Education and Care
This course provides the skills needed by educators who are responsible for the day-to-day running of a before and after school care and/or vacation care service. 18 core units plus 7 electives.
Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full Qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
Studying at TAFE SA is one of the easiest pathways towards a University Degree. Credit Transfer is the formal recognition that parts of a TAFE SA course are equivalent in content and level to parts of some University courses.
