    Employment Outcomes

    This course provides training to assist in pursuing a career in the automotive industry. It covers the skills and knowledge required to perform a range of tasks relating to servicing underbody system components of vehicles within an automotive service and repair business. These skills can lead to employment as a light vehicle mechanic, heavy vehicle mechanic, motorcycle mechanic or other specialist automotive trades.

    Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.

    Qualifications & Skills Covered

    Certificate II in Automotive Underbody Technology (AUR21212)
    This course covers the skills and knowledge for servicing operations of the following underbody systems, brakes, steering, suspension, engines, transmissions, and final drives. It also covers the skills in safe working practices, environmental regulations and customer relations. 8 core units plus 6 electives.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full Qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.

    This course is subsidised through the Government of South Australia's WorkReady initiative.
