  • You must be working in a related industry or employment and provide evidence of this when you enrol.

    Course Notes

    • The racing industry requires that the maximum weight for riders is 80 kilograms for trackriding. Students who do not meet this requirement will complete their Certificate I in Racing with non-riding electives.

    Qualifications & Skills Covered

    Certificate I in Racing (Stablehand)
    3 core units: Follow OHS procedures and observe environmental work practices; Catch and handle quiet horses under supervision; Perform basic stable duties; plus 2 elective units.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency within this Qualification will receive a Statement of Attainment.
