    Selection criteria is only used when there are more applicants for the course than places available. Applicants will be ranked in the following order:

    1. CSPA score

    Uni Dual Offer Course

    • You will receive an offer to both TAFE SA and University, with the University offer being conditional on successful completion of the TAFE SA qualification.
    • You can rest assured you have secured your University offer, pending successful completion of the TAFE SA award.
    • No further application will be required.
    • You will receive credit for TAFE SA studies allowing you to complete two awards dependant on the pathway selected.
    • If accepted, you will receive an offer to TAFE SA and-on successful completion of the TAFE SA qualification-an offer to University with no further application required.

    Graduates of this course may gain employment as Conference Guest Reservations; Consultants; Assistants Events Managers; Conference, Meeting & Event Coordinators; Event Team Leaders/Supervisors; Event Operations Assistants; Independent Event/Meetings Organisers (Local Government, Community Groups;) and Event and Functions Coordinators in Convention Centres and Hotels.

    Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.

    Qualifications & Skills Covered

    Certificate III in Events (SIT30612)
    This course provides you with the skills to work effectively in an assistant role in the event industry. Event assistants provide administrative and on-site support for a wide range of events, from weddings to business conferences to festivals. This qualification will give you the skills, knowledge and abilities to step into an entry level role in the vibrant event industry or continue your event studies to Diploma and beyond. 5 core units plus 8 electives.

    Diploma of Events (SIT50212)
    This qualification provides skills for individuals who wish to use sound knowledge of event management processes and a broad range of skills to coordinate event operations. When you study the Diploma you will learn how to operate independently and make operational event management decisions venue selection, conference management, budgeting and team supervision. 9 core units plus 11 electives.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full Qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.

    To access subsidised training through WorkReady, your suitability to complete the qualification will be assessed. This may include participation in a Language, Literacy and Numeracy pre-assessment.
