A selection of gourmet short courses in baking, patisserie, cooking, cheese making and small goods, as well as beer flavour and styles, will be held at the Adelaide Central Market Kitchen until the end of 2015.

TAFE SA Director of Tourism, Hospitality and Creative Arts Madeleine Frost said partnering with the Adelaide Central Market to co-deliver TAFE SA’s Gastronomic Adventures food program was a perfect fit.

“The Adelaide Central Market is the ideal location to have our expert lecturers deliver a selection of our most popular, gourmet short courses,” Ms Frost said.

“TAFE SA’s Gastronomic Adventures short courses are designed for people who have a passion for food and cooking. What better place to learn than Adelaide’s central food hub.

“People who enrol in these courses will have opportunities to learn from lecturers who are leading experts in their field, many with international experience.”

Stall holder and Market Kitchen host Mark Gleeson said TAFE SA’s Gastronomic Adventures in the Adelaide Central Market Kitchen was the latest and most exciting collaboration between small business, the State’s tourism and education sectors, and the community of South Australia.

“TAFE SA is leading the way, connecting our culinary champions to a broader food tourism audience, supporting the entire South Australian food supply chain,” Mr Gleeson said.

TAFE SA’s Gastronomic Adventures food program delivers more than 50 short courses each year in baking, patisserie, cookery, smallgoods, confectionery, beer, cheese and hospitality at TAFE SA Regency Campus - and now at the Adelaide Central Market.

With more than 80 traders under one roof, the Market is renowned as one of the world’s best produce markets. It offers a huge range of fresh food, including fruit and vegetables, meat and poultry, seafood, cheeses, bakery, smallgoods and health foods, along with some of Adelaide’s most popular cafes and eateries.
