TAFE SA students triumph at this year’s Automotive Industry Group Awards

TAFE SA automotive and heavy vehicle apprentices and students triumphs at this year’s Automotive Industry Group South East Apprentice Awards.

These prestigious awards have been recognising apprentices and students undertaking training in the automotive industry since 2004, enabling to aid the training and development of automotive trainees and apprentices in the South East.

The 2014 annual award presentation was held on this month at the Mount Gambier, Old Town Hall. Director of Mining, Engineering and Transport, Alison Roberts, and key automotive industry members attended the evening to celebrate the achievements of local apprentices and students alike.

Nominations were received from students who are currently undergoing Automotive Training from employers, registered training organisation, schools and Australian Apprenticeship Centres across the Limestone Coast area.

Various categories were open to full-time apprentices who are currently working in the automotive industry as well as school students undertaking training at an Automotive Skills Centre, either at Mount Gambier, Millicent or Bordertown areas or those undertaking an Australian School Based Apprenticeship.

Alison Robert said, “On behalf of TAFE SA I would like to congratulate all the 2014 winners. We are committed to the advancement of youth in the automotive industry. TAFE SA is the largest provider of automotive retail service and repair training in South Australia and we take pride in offering high quality training, with our fully qualified lecturers to ensure all skills are up to date and in line with industry needs.”
