Expert offers Animal Health Workshop

Jun 05, 2012

Dairy cattle specialist Dr Glenn Beath will share his knowledge at new Animal Health Care workshops run by TAFE SA Mount Gambier.

In response to growing community demand within the dairy industry, TAFE SA Regional is offering a higher-level Animal Health workshop designed specifically for herd managers, farm managers and farm owners.

With 35 years experience as a Veterinarian within a private practice, the recently retired Dr Glen will share his knowledge with participants during the five-day workshop.

The workshop, which aims to give participants the skills to have the best animal health practices in their operations, will include disease investigation, control and prevention; and bio-security.

Senior Dairy Lecturer Mark Thompson said that he expects the course will be very popular.

“Dairy farms are now more complex, more intensive and of a bigger scale in the South East so we expect that demand will be high.”

“Dr Glen has a fresh approach, a great passion for the industry and excellent communication skills which make this workshop the ‘must-attend' course of the dairy calendar,” said Mark.

The Animal Health Workshop will run from 18 - 21 June, with a review day on 4 July. For further information or to enrol, contact Mark Thompson on 0428 116 288 or email mark.thompson@tafesa.edu.au.
