TAFE SA Faculty of Engineering and Construction will open its doors on Wednesday, 16 May from 4.30pm to 9.00pm at Elizabeth Campus for an informative open day.
TAFE SA Faculty of Engineering and Construction Director Werner Lausberg says, “The open day is an ideal opportunity for industry and prospective trainees to speak directly with lecturers about training, apprenticeship and employment pathways. Staff will be available to explain government training funding options and assist participants with career advice during the evening.”
The City of Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty is delighted to be speaking at the upcoming event. Mr Docherty says, “Playford is South Australia’s fastest growing Council in the Northern area, which is attracting $23 billion worth of investment to increase infrastructure and economic development. This is a very exciting time to be working within the Engineering and Construction industry.”
School counsellors and students are encouraged to attend from 4.30pm to 7.00pm and Engineering and Construction industry representatives and public to network from 6.00pm to 9.00pm.
The TAFE SA Elizabeth Campus will be a hive of activity with information sessions and booths, static and dynamic displays and tours will provide a comprehensive picture of the training pathways and government funding available.
TAFE SA is the largest provider of vocational education and training (VET) in South Australia, enrolling more than 80,000 students each year.
The Faculty of Engineering and Construction comprises of five schools and approximately 250 educational staff with many offering specialist expertise. The Engineering and Construction program includes training from areas of Air-conditioning, Automotive, Carpentry, Electrical, Fabrication Engineering, Furnishing and Mortar Trowel Trades.
