TAFE SA Adelaide South Institute is committed to excellence in training and skills development through engagement with industry, its stakeholders and local communities. The Institute operates as an independent Registered Training Organisation although it remains part of a collaborative network of TAFE SA Institutes. We have a key role in the economic and social development of the state from Adelaide to southern metropolitan Adelaide regions.
In 2011/12 we trained over 33,608 students across our seven campuses in over 400 qualifications ranging from Certificate levels through to Advanced Diploma. Our courses are developed in consultation with industry and are designed to meet both current and predicted skills shortages. Qualifications are nationally recognised, welcomed by industry and open the way to higher study through a range of higher education pathway programs available to students.
TAFE SA consistently leads Australia in terms of student satisfaction and employment outcomes for students. According to the National Centre for Vocational Education and Research, 92% of TAFE SA graduates are satisfied with the overall quality of their training and 95% of TAFE SA graduates would recommend the training they undertook to others. TAFE SA courses are increasingly an alternative pathway to university particularly for Vocational Education and Training students who may not be able to afford university qualifications, have learning difficulties, require English language support or practical training skills.
