Solar Car Challenge
The World Solar Challenge runs from Darwin to Adelaide, commencing in October every second year.
Teams are required to research, design and build vehicles capable of completing the 3000km journey from tropical Darwin in the Northern Territory to cosmopolitan Adelaide in South Australia.
Inspired by the environment, driven by the sun, the World Solar Challenge promotes and celebrates educational and technical excellence through creative, technical and scientific principles.
World Solar Challenge participants are driven by the knowledge that they are contributing towards a vital search for sustainable transport alternatives. The World Solar Challenge is the premier forum for solar vehicle technology around the globe – our goal is to have the fastest best presented car possible, with the best technology.
