The $38.3 million Mining, Engineering and Transport (MET) at TAFE SA Regency Campus is a state-of-the-art training hub to support growth in the mining, civil and mechanical engineering, advanced manufacturing, transport and defence industries.
With 3000 students at the centre once Stage 3 is complete, training at METC will range from entry level training into apprenticeships, up skilling for existing workers through to advanced courses for para-professionals with pathways to university.
The first 250 students have already started training at METC with the completion of the first stage of construction and stage 3 will be completed by mid-2014.
Courses include light and heavy automotive, mechanical, advanced manufacturing, fabrication engineering, electronics and computer systems, land information management system and geoscience.
