Legal Studies at TAFE SA
The Legal Studies Faculty of TAFE SA offers the largest range of police, legal and statutory compliance training in South Australia. Training offered leads to qualifications in the areas of Policing, Legal Services, Statutory Compliance, Property Conveyancing and Sustainability and Carbon Management.
Our courses have been developed in collaboration with our partners in industry, South Australia Police, government departments and the private legal profession.
All Legal Studies courses have further study pathways, including pathways to university, with substantial credits towards higher qualifications in many cases.
Many of our graduates have gone on to successful careers as a police officer, para-legal, legal assistant, government investigator, compliance officer or conveyancer. Our courses provide students with a leading edge in the competitive business and government job markets.
Shanghai Police College Australia Study Tour
On 25th November 2013, 22 cadets from the Shanghai Police College
commenced their 21 day study tour in Australia.
The study tour included a week long program with TAFE SA where students undertook training and information sessions at TAFE SA’s Adelaide City Campus, the Fort Largs Police Academy, the Department of Planning, Transport & Infrastructure, Adelaide Police Station, the Adelaide Magistrates Court and the Environment Protection Authority. Cadets also attended the Cleland Wildlife Park where they were able to interact with iconic Australian wildlife as well as attend a presentation on international trade in animals and its correlation with other offences such as drug trafficking.
Amongst all of the study, students also got to enjoy some of their free time exploring the city of Adelaide.
Following the week long program at TAFE SA, cadets travelled to Canberra, Sydney and then onto Brisbane where they continued their study tour, before returning to Shanghai on 15th December 2013.
