TAFE South Australia offers many English language award courses including the Diploma of English Proficiency, Certificate IV in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and the Diploma of Interpreting and Translating.
We also offer many non-award English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) programs including General English, English for Commercial Cookery and Bakery, English for Academic Purposes and Advanced IELTS Preparation.
English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) start each Monday during term time. Some courses may have more than one intake every year, so you will need to check the commencement dates.
Depending on your English skills, your ELICOS course may be for a week or for a few months. Also, dependent on which ELICOS course you study and your progress, you may need to sit an IELTS test, which may incur a fee additional to your ELICOS course cost.
The quality of teaching at TAFE South Australia is very high and once your English skills have developed, you’ll be ready to start your formal qualification.
It may be possible to combine an English language (ELICOS) course with your main study program. This is called course packaging.
