Application process under Streamlined Visa Processing (SVP) arrangements
International students applying for a Packaged University Offer apply according to the requirements for their preferred University as outlined above.
Under the SVP system, students from the DIBP Assessment level 3 countries for visa subclass 572 are required to submit a Genuine Temporary Entrant Assessment (GTE) Form together with their application. Applications from Assessment level 1 & 2 countries may require a GTE assessment on a case by case basis. If a GTE assessment is required, you will be advised.
Please refer to the Guidelines on Genuine Student, Temporary Entrant, Student Visa Living Costs and Proof of Funds for assistance in completing the Genuine Temporary Entrant Assessment form.
Students seeking a packaged offer may be required to satisfy additional conditions (as outlined in the Letter of Offer). Upon acceptance of the offered place/s students will receive a COE for the duration of the TAFE SA and University programs.
Upon receipt of the Confirmation of Enrolments (COEs), international students can apply for a student visa through the SVP system for the total duration of both programs. These applications are deemed as low risk and thus are not processed through the usual Assessment Level categories.
International students on a packaged SVP visa are committed to study the TAFE SA qualification and the partner University course. Students should not accept their Offer if they intend to change their chosen course or transfer to another institution.
See ‘how to apply’ for further details on the application process.
What is Streamlined Visa Processing?
Under the streamlined student visa processing arrangements, eligible programs at education providers are assessed as though they are a lower immigration risk, irrespective of their country of origin. If your program is eligible for streamlined s visa processing you will generally have reduced evidentiary requirements when applying for a student visa. If your program is not eligible for SVP, such as a Certificate IV without a credit pathway to a University, then your visa will be assessed under the Assessment Level system.
