Regional Managers

Key Responsibilities

TAFE SA’s Regional Managers are a key point of contact for all industry training needs. Our Regional Managers represent TAFE SA on local industry and community advisory groups and have a good understanding of the training available in the region. They also provide an initial point of contact for businesses, government agencies, schools and universities. Our Regional Managers work with our wide range of program areas to ensure cohesive activity and delivery of services across South Australia. Regional News

Garden revival course in Kersbrook Forest

TAFE SA’s Conservation and Horticulture program together with Natural Resources Adelaide and Mt Lofty Ranges is contributing to Sampson Flat Bushfire recovery effort by offering a unique course with a focus on garden revival.

The Certificate II in Horticulture  (Garden Revival) which is due to commence on April 27th 2015, is a 9 week course with two days of training per week (Mondays and Tuesdays). Attendance will also be required for 4 consecutive Wednesdays.  The course is located within the Kersbrook Forest and, participants will learn skills in:

  • Designing gardens to make them safer
  • Plant selection, propagation and care
  • Soils, erosion and weed control
  • Safe use of hand tools, chainsaws and brush cutters

The course is targeted at residents, landowners and volunteers wishing to assist in the bushfire recovery effort.

Peter Clark, Principal Lecturer of TAFE SA said, “After the devastation of the Sampson Flat Bushfire this program will contribute to building capacity in the local community to redesign and establish their gardens”.

This nationally accredited course is currently funded under the State Government’s Skills for All initiative, and will be offered fee free to eligible participants. Limited spaces are available.
