TAFE SA accepting applications to study

Jan 13, 2015

Certificate IV in Sport and RecreationWe are still taking applications for people to study at TAFE SA in 2015.

TAFE SA Executive Director of Business Development and Regions, Cathie Brown, says people can continue to apply for courses now and throughout the year.

“We are currently making offers every day and expect to make more over the coming weeks and months,” she said.

“Courses where we have a number of places still available include the Associate Degree in Electronic Engineering, Advanced Diploma of Events, Advanced Diploma of Hospitality, Certificate IV in Aromatherapy and Certificate IV in Sport and Recreation.

“Places are still available in Business and Finance, Hair and Beauty, Building and Information Technology studies.

“Our website has all the details about the courses available and how to apply at www.tafesa.edu.au.”

To date we have made more than 11,000 offers to prospective students for 2015, with many more expected.

“It shows that TAFE SA’s concerted effort to tailor training to meet the needs of students, business and industry is paying off,” Ms Brown said.

“Employers tell us they prefer our students because they can hit the ground running.”

Ms Brown said we now had more than 400 pathways to higher education, often providing a cheaper and more hands-on route to university.

“Students doing Diploma and above courses can access Government loans, so just like the university sector, students can study now and pay later,” she said.

Ms Brown said our message to would-be students this year, of “Be Yourself”, appeared to be resonating with people looking to choose courses suited to their interests and passions.

“With more than 1,300 courses to choose from, they should find one that’s right for them,” she said.

“We also have 400 short courses for those who want to learn some new skills or get a taste of a different career."
