The new national Children’s Services qualification will be available at TAFE SA for residents of Roxby Downs from November 2014.
The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care will be funded for ten regional participants who can attend the TAFE SA Roxby Downs Campus on a regular basis.
Participants will learn through a variety of methods including face to face classes, practical skills labs, research on line and work placements, all under the expert guidance of TAFE SA lecturers.
TAFE SA Educational Manager Dawn Benjamin said that the courses would provide participants with highly desirable skills that would ‘open the door’ to the growing children’s services industry.
“This course lays the foundations for participants to learn the most current ways of working with young children and is a requirement of anyone working in this industry,” said Dawn.
“This project is win-win for community members who might otherwise not be able to financially afford the regular costs of a course. This scholarship opportunity will ensure local communities have new graduates ready to support the growing demand of children’s services educators.”
An information session will be held at TAFE SA Roxby Downs Campus on Wednesday 15 October at either 2:00 - 3:00 pm or 6.30 – 7.30 pm.
Interested participants who are unable to attend this session are encouraged to contact Wendy Scott on 8648 8865.
