Port Augusta residents to benefit from fee-free* training – it could be you!

Apr 01, 2014

In response to the continual growth in demand for community services and aged care in the Port Augusta community, up to 18 residents will have the opportunity to access fee-free* training in TAFE SA’s Certificate III in Community Services and Certificate III in Aged Care.

The two-day a week course is an initiative of the South Australian Government’s Skills for All program in collaboration with TAFE SA and Regional Development Australia Far North.

TAFE SA Community Services Lecturer Ms Carolyn Boyce said the 20 week program is a fantastic opportunity for local residents. All selected students will have two weeks working in industry which increases their opportunity for job outcomes in the sector.

“This program gives people an opportunity to gain industry-specific training which opens the door to employment in the health sector,” said Ms Boyce.

Last year TAFE SA supplied South Australia with over 5000 work ready graduates directly into the Community Services and Health industries and looks forward to the new range of graduates in Port Augusta.

If you are interested in this course, please contact Ms Boyce on 0418 823 311 to obtain an expression of interest form. Limited places are available and the applications close on Wednesday 9 April.

*While the course is fee-free to eligible participants, a $250 fee for incidental materials will apply. TAFE SA is a Skills for All training provider.
