International Interest in Wine and Food

Mar 19, 2012

Diploma of Food and Wine Managment and Operations international students, (L-R): Prabal Belbase, Sunil Kumar, Jin Wang, (kneeling) Jason Burke, Jularat Sanchai, Hyunrae Lim, Brittany Russ, Liao Mau-Ting

Just like a good bottle of wine, TAFE SA Regional’s Diploma of Food and Wine Management and Operations course is getting better with age.

Offered successfully for nine years, the course is enjoying increasing interest from international students keen to learn in one of the world’s most famous wine regions, the Barossa Valley.

This year, six international students from Nepal, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand and China have embarked on the course.

The only course of its kind in Australia, the Diploma is a comprehensive program developed hand-in-hand with industry that prepares students with the skills and knowledge required for management and leadership roles in the food and wine industry.

Jin Wang from China is excited to be studying the Diploma of Food and Wine at Barossa Valley Campus in Nuriootpa.

“I came to Australia as I want to be involved in the wine industry in the future, and this will give me a solid foundation to achieving my dream.”

“Australia has a well developed wine industry and its popular wines are consumed all over the world.  I admire the way people enjoy wine in Australia, and that most wine is affordable” said Jin Wang.

“The Barossa Valley has a warm and friendly atmosphere and is the ideal place for preparing to step into the wine industry.”
