Industry open night tonight at Berri Campus

Mar 19, 2012

TAFE SA Manufacturing, Engineering and Transport (MET) Open Night

Riverland Trade Training Centre
TAFE SA Berri Campus, Kay Avenue

Tonight. Monday 19 March 4.30-6.30pm

TAFE SA Regional’s Manufacturing, Engineering and Transport Open Night tonight, 19 March from 4:30pm to 6:30 pm, will energise all industry representatives who attend.

TAFE SA Regional Educational Manager Tim Jones said following the opening of the Riverland Trade Training Centre at Berri Campus in November 2011, TAFE SA Regional now provides a range of new training courses and opportunities for local employers and employees to upskill.  Training is offered in Electrical, Refrigeration and Renewable Energy, Fitting and Machining, Fabrication and Automotive with a range of short courses on offer.

The centre can help equip local residents to train and gain work-ready skills in a variety of careers within the growing trades industries.

“The Riverland Trade Training Centre is now equipped to deliver the full range of apprenticeship training in a range of trade areas, reducing the need for local employers to send their apprentices to Adelaide,” Mr Jones said.

“The open day is a great opportunity for local industry to inspect the new facilities and equipment and to meet the staff, so we have opened up the doors to show local industry how we can add value to their business.”

“We also want to showcase the new electro technology and renewable energy facility, which is a first for the Riverland, and offers a range of new training opportunities for local industry.”

Staff from TAFE SA Regional, the Large Training Provider of the Year for 2011, invite industry to enjoy a BBQ and the opportunity to meet and network with them on the night. TAFE SA students will also be recognised on the evening with a range of awards for 2011 graduates.
