Areas of Environment, Conservation & Horticulture cover a variety of disciplines all involved with air, water, waste & plants.
Horticulture can be divided into two main groups. Production Horticulture is fruit and vegetable production, and Amenity Horticulture covers ‘Green’ practices.
Both areas are excellent for people wanting to work outdoors. Whether it’s designing irrigation systems, working on sports turf, propagating plants or starting up your own vegetable growing business, these courses will get you there.
Job opportunities include being a Greenkeeper, Landscape Gardener, Arborist, Market Gardener or Nursery worker.
Environmental studies is very topical as it relates to our planet and how we can adopt more sustainable practices.
Conservation & Land Management and Environmental Studies deal with plants, oceans, waterways, salinity, erosion, weeds, alternate energy and waste, to name a few.
Eco-Tourism is another emerging market which combines these elements with tourism. Job opportunities may include Parks & Wildlife Operator, Conservation Officer, Environmental Manager, Waste or Water Plant Operator, or Eco Tourist Guide.
Working through the Certificate levels and into the Diploma courses will provide increasing levels of Management opportunities within an organisation.
